NEVER AGAIN

Posted by 1cowboyfan on 6/26/2009

NOT ONLY IS THEIR PAINT OVERPRICED, IT IS HORRIBLE TO WORK WITH. THEIR EMPLOYEES HAVE LITTLE KNOWLEDGE AND COULD CARE LESS.

A good experiance!

The crew here is really good. They know there products. I went in the Hereford store not knowing how to do alot of things and they actually helped me. The manager actually takes time to talk to you. It was a good experiance.

Red Paint

Posted by srupp01 on 5/5/2008

I agree, red paint is hard to cover. When doing this, it is very helpful and important to use a gray primer and then two coats of paint. The paint itself did not fail, it's the way that it was put on.

Worst Paint In The World

Posted by JoJostrasz on 4/30/2008

I Painted my bedroom in a dark color red. I paid $40 for a gallon of paint that took for coats and still didn't cover. The only answer the store clerk had was put on another coat. My frustration lead me to other paint stores that were more helpful and solved my problem. I will never shop here again.

Response from Sherwin Williams

First of all, I apologize for your being treated in the manner you were. Our goal is to provide the best service and products in the industry to our customers, and your situation definitely could have been handled differently. Alot of dark colors, especially reds, have light weight pigments in them and sometimes can be more difficult to cover. Using a gray primer can really help with getting the coverage you need as well as getting a true representation of the color. The choice of roller cover can really effect the coverage as well. A soft woven cover works best for Semi-gloss paints, where a knit cover works better for flats. If you use a soft woven for flat or a knit for semi-gloss, your roller cover will not pick up or release paint near as well as it should. You also want to make sure that you are using the right nap size for your texture as well. I have used alot of accent colors in my own home and have found that when I have the right tools for the job, I never have a bad experience, and don't ever need more than 2 coats on any project. I hope that you will consider giving Sherwin another chance. I know that we would like another chance to serve you and help you on your future projects. Thank you.
